We are seeking a Testing & Validation Module talent with expertise in thermal performance evaluation, environmental stress testing, reliability assessment, and failure analysis of liquid‑cooling cold plates and related components.
Position Overview
This role leads the end‑to‑end testing framework for server liquid‑cooling cold plates, covering test system definition, execution, analysis, and standardization. You will take ownership of test planning, laboratory execution, and data interpretation for thermal, structural, and environmental reliability validation.
You will work closely with R&D, structural engineering, manufacturing process teams, and quality engineering to ensure flawless product validation and continuous improvement of liquid-cooled systems across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test System Leadership
Own the test strategy and test system architecture for server liquid‑cooling cold plates.
Define and maintain comprehensive test plans including:
Thermal performance testing
Fluid performance and pressure drop evaluation
Environmental reliability testing
Mechanical strength testing
Long‑term sealing and leakage reliability
Develop standardized, scalable testing workflows aligned with internal and international reliability requirements.
2. Core Test Execution
Execute hands‑on testing of liquid‑cooling cold plates and assemblies, including:
Thermal impedance & thermal resistance measurements
Flow and pressure drop characterization
High‑/low‑temperature cycling
Rapid temperature change (thermal shock)
Vibration and mechanical fatigue testing
Leakage, burst pressure, and sealing integrity tests
Aging tests on materials and structural joints
Operate test instruments, record results, and ensure repeatability and accuracy across test cycles.
3. Issue Analysis & Quality Improvement
Lead root cause analysis for failures found during testing (thermal deviations, leakage, structural cracking, performance degradation).
Reproduce test issues, identify failure mechanisms, and coordinate corrective actions with R&D, structural engineers, and reliability teams.
Implement closed‑loop quality improvement, validating that corrections resolve issues thoroughly and sustainably.
Provide high‑quality test documentation including test logs, root cause reports, and final verification summaries.
4. Capability & Standards Development
Contribute to the design, scaling, and maintenance of test platforms, fixtures, and automated test tools.
Produce detailed test reports, data summaries, visualization charts, and engineering recommendations.
Promote test process standardization, helping build and maintain internal test specifications and reliability guidelines.
Support training and capability development within the testing team to elevate test rigor and efficiency.
Qualifications
1. Education
Bachelor’s degree or above in:
Mechanical Engineering
Thermal Engineering
Materials Science
Measurement and Control Engineering
Or a closely related discipline
2. Professional Experience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on testing experience in:
Thermal testing of electronic products, or
Liquid cooling system validation
Experience with server cold plate testing is a strong advantage.
For module lead roles: demonstrated leadership and team management capability.
3. Core Competencies
(1) Fundamental Knowledge
Solid understanding of liquid cooling principles, thermal dissipation mechanisms, and common cold plate reliability test methods.
(2) Thermal Performance Test Equipment
Hands-on experience with:
Thermal resistance testers
Thermal conductivity meters
IR thermal imaging systems
(3) Environmental & Reliability Test Equipment
Practical experience operating:
High/low temperature & humidity chambers
Rapid temperature change (thermal shock) systems
Vibration and mechanical shock test platforms
(4) Sealing & Leak Test Equipment
Familiarity with:
Helium mass spectrometer leak detectors
Pressure pumps
Leak and sealing integrity test tools
(5) Data Analysis & Reporting
Strong ability to analyze datasets, extract insights, and produce professional technical reports with charts and visualizations.
(6) Engineering Tools
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
Basic proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) for measurement, annotation, and visualization.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with data center hardware, HPC cooling, or liquid-cooled server platforms.
Familiarity with reliability engineering methodologies, accelerated stress testing, and quality analysis frameworks.
Knowledge of materials compatibility, corrosion behavior, and coolant‑interaction reliability testing.
Experience in designing custom test fixtures or automated test systems.
