Position Overview
The Sales Engineer (Mandarin/Chinese) will combine technical knowledge of envelope and protective packaging materials with consultative selling skills to support business development and account management across Greater China and Southeast Asia. This role requires fluency in Mandarin Chinese, strong materials science or packaging technical background, experience working with converters/packaging suppliers, and the ability to translate customer requirements into product specifications, trials, and scalable production solutions. The Sales Engineer will work closely with product development, supply chain, and regional sales teams to drive revenue, ensure product fit, and deliver excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the sales and promotion of building envelope material products.
Develop new markets and customers, expanding product sales coverage.
Collect market information within the assigned region and analyze competitors.
Plan and execute sales activities in the assigned territory to achieve sales targets.
Maintain customer relationships and establish long-term strategic cooperation with clients.
Manage technical sales activities for envelope materials (e.g., paper, coated papers, polymer films, liners, barrier coatings, adhesive systems), including customer discovery, requirements analysis, specification recommendations, and commercial proposals.
Support new business development by identifying target accounts, qualifying opportunities, preparing technical proposals and quotations, and participating in customer negotiations to close deals.
Lead technical trials and product evaluations with customers and third‑party converters: define test plans, coordinate sample preparation, analyze results, and recommend process or formulation adjustments to meet performance and cost targets.
Provide technical training and product guidance to sales colleagues, distributors, and customers in Mandarin and English; prepare technical documentation, datasheets, and application notes tailored to customer needs.
Collaborate with R&D and product teams to communicate customer feedback, support product development roadmaps, and drive continuous improvement in material performance and manufacturability.
Coordinate closely with supply chain and logistics to manage sample distribution, lead times, inventory availability, and order fulfillment to meet customer timelines.
Maintain accurate CRM records, prepare sales forecasts, technical opportunity assessments, and regular reports for regional management.
Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, and technical workshops; build long‑term relationships with key customers, converters, and distributors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
At least 2 years of work experience in Saudi Arabia with a Chinese state-owned enterprise, preferably involved in building envelope materials or steel structure industrial building projects.
Previous roles may include overseas sales or overseas construction project management.
Familiar with the operation of overseas industrial building projects.
English must be usable as a working language.
Age between 30–45.
