Position Overview:
The Collection Agent engages customers to collect outstanding payments, negotiates repayment arrangements, and maintains accurate account records. This role focuses on delivering results while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, resilient, and demonstrates strong communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Contact and Account Management
(1) Make outbound and receive inbound calls to customers across assigned local portfolios to collect past-due balances;
(2) Verify customer information, explain account status, and negotiate payment plans or settlements in accordance with company policy;Payment Negotiation and Follow-up
(1) Secure promises to pay, process payments through approved channels, and document agreed arrangements accurately;
(2) Conduct timely follow-up on missed promises, update account status, and re-negotiate terms when appropriate.Compliance and Customer Experience
(1) Adhere to fair debt collection practices, company policies, and regulatory requirements when interacting with customers;
(2) Handle disputes and escalations professionally, escalating complex issues to supervisors or specialist teams as needed.Recordkeeping and Reporting
(1) Maintain accurate and timely notes in the collections system and update payment activity;
(2) Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality targets, and contribute to performance reporting.Process Improvement and Team Collaboration
(1) Provide feedback on contact strategies, scripting, and system workflows to improve contact rates and recovery outcomes;
(2) Work closely with team leads, analytics, and operations to support campaign execution and continuous improvement initiatives.Risk Identification and Escalation
(1) Identify potential fraud or suspicious account activity and escalate per company procedures;
(2) Support legal referral processes by preparing required documentation and account histories when necessary.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
(1) High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred;
(2) Open to fresh graduates or candidates with 3–6 months of BPO, collections, or contact center experience.Skills and Technical Requirements
(1) Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated negotiation ability;
(2) Comfortable using collections systems, dialer platforms, and CRM tools; basic MS Excel skills for tracking and reporting.Core Competencies
(1) Customer-focused, resilient, and results-driven with strong attention to detail;
(2) Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and prioritize collections activities.Compliance and Integrity
(1) Knowledge of or willingness to learn fair debt collection practices and applicable regulations;
(2) High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling customer information.Preferred
(1) Experience in financial services, utility billing, or lending environments is an advantage;
(2) Multilingual ability is a plus (fluency in English, Tagalog and Cebuano preferred);
(3) Prior exposure to target-driven environments and performance-based incentives is beneficial.
Work Setup Details
1. Amenable to work 6 times a week (Monday to Saturday)
2. 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm
3. Temporary BGC Office: 27th floor High Street South Corporate Plaza Tower 2, 26th cor 11th Avenue, BGC, City of Taguig.
4. Will moved to Eastwood Bridgetown, Quezon City.
