Position Overview
The Regional Risk Manager will lead risk management activities across assigned countries within the region, ensuring effective identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of operational, financial, and regulatory risks. This role partners with local and regional stakeholders including finance, operations, legal, IT, and business leaders to maintain a strong control environment, drive consistent risk practices, and support business growth while safeguarding company assets and reputation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Regional Credit Management
Oversee the credit approval process for mobile phone installment businesses in the region, making final approval decisions within the authority delegated by headquarters.
Monitor the quality of the regional asset portfolio, regularly generate regional risk reports, and identify early warning signals.
Propose differentiated credit policy recommendations to headquarters based on regional customer segment characteristics.
2. Team Leadership & Training
Lead, motivate, and evaluate the performance of front-line credit officers and field verification teams in the region.
Organize regular training sessions to ensure the team understands the latest credit policies and anti-fraud rules.
Build a talent pipeline and develop local key staff.
3. Store & Channel Risk Control
Maintain communication with the sales team and dealer/store partners to assess and grade channel quality from a risk perspective.
Handle store appeals regarding rejected cases to balance customer experience and risk control.
Conduct regular risk inspections at partner stores to prevent internal and external collusion fraud.
4. Anti-Fraud Execution
Implement the headquarters' anti-fraud strategies and identify common local fraud patterns.
Establish regional blacklist and greylist mechanisms.
5. Localized Process Optimization
Optimize interview scripts and document verification processes based on the characteristics of customers in the region.
Manage post-loan follow-up and verification work in the region.
Qualifications and Must Have:
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Management, or related fields.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in consumer finance or retail credit risk, with at least 1 year of team management experience. Must be familiar with the local Philippine market
Willingness to travel within the region for store visits.
Skills:
Familiar with the credit approval process and basic risk indicators.
Strong data analysis skills, proficient in using Excel for data pivot and analysis.
Good communication and coordination skills, able to handle conflicts with business departments.
Proficiency in local languages is a plus.
