Position Overview
The Collection Specialist will manage day-to-day recovery activities for consumer lending portfolios, focusing on lending apps such as Home Credit, PayJoy, Skyro, Salmon, BillEase, and similar platforms. This role is responsible for contacting customers, negotiating payment arrangements, maintaining accurate account records, and escalating complex cases. The ideal candidate is results-driven, empathetic, experienced with digital-lending workflows, and skilled at balancing recovery targets with excellent customer experience and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform outbound and inbound collection calls, SMS, email, and app-based communications to delinquent borrowers in accordance with script and policy.
Negotiate and set up payment arrangements, partial payments, loan restructuring, or settlement offers to maximize recoveries while preserving customer relationships.
Use lending app platforms (e.g., Home Credit, PayJoy, Skyro, Salmon, BillEase) and CRM systems to update account notes, payment commitments, and action tracking.
Prioritize accounts using aging buckets and risk criteria to achieve daily and monthly collection targets and KPIs.
Coordinate with credit underwriting, fraud, customer service, and legal teams to resolve disputes, verify customer information, and escalate accounts when necessary.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and data privacy requirements (e.g., BSP and NPC guidance where applicable) during all collection activities.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline collection workflows, improve contact rates, and increase recovery efficiency.
Prepare and submit accurate daily activity logs and periodic collection reports to support performance measurement and decision-making.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in consumer collections, recovery, or customer contact roles supporting digital lending or fintech products (experience with Home Credit, PayJoy, Skyro, Salmon, BillEase or similar is highly preferred).
High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
Demonstrated ability to meet recovery targets through effective negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with collections tools, CRMs, and mobile lending platforms; proficiency in data entry and basic reporting.
Solid understanding of local regulatory requirements and fair debt collection practices (knowledge of BSP and NPC guidelines an advantage).
Strong communication skills, customer empathy, and the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English and Tagalog
Local candidates or individuals with legal work status in the country preferred.
