Position Overview

We are looking for a VFD Technical Engineer to provide technical expertise across medium- and low-voltage Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) products.

This role combines on-site commissioning, technical support, pre-sales engineering, and customer support. You will work closely with the Russian sales team and customers, while also providing remote technical support to international markets including South Africa and Egypt.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience commissioning medium-voltage VFDs, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to both sales teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning & Field Engineering

• Perform on-site commissioning of medium-voltage VFD systems at customer locations.

• Configure, test, and troubleshoot VFD systems to ensure reliable operation.

• Independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues during commissioning and start-up.

• Provide technical guidance during system testing, troubleshooting, and customer handover.

Pre-Sales Technical Support

• Work closely with the Russian sales team to understand customer requirements and develop suitable technical solutions.

• Participate in technical discussions with customers and support sales activities from a technical perspective.

• Prepare technical proposals, product specifications, and solution presentations.

• Present VFD solutions and explain technical features and applications to customers.

Product & Customer Support

• Provide end-to-end technical support for medium- and low-voltage VFD product lines.

• Support customers with technical inquiries, troubleshooting, and product-related issues before and after sales.

• Coordinate with internal technical teams and headquarters in China to resolve complex technical matters.

• Maintain a high level of responsiveness and customer service.

International Technical Support

• Provide remote technical support to customers and teams in South Africa and Egypt.

• Communicate effectively across different time zones and coordinate timely technical solutions.

• Escalate and follow up on technical issues with relevant internal teams when required.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation, or a related field.

• Proven hands-on experience in medium-voltage VFD commissioning.

• Familiarity with at least one recognized mainstream VFD/drive brand.

• Strong knowledge of electrical drives, motor control, and VFD systems.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and independently resolve technical issues on-site.

• Experience in technical customer support, application engineering, commissioning, or pre-sales is highly preferred.

• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and sales teams.

• Professional working proficiency in English for communication with headquarters in China and international customers.

• Strong sense of responsibility, problem-solving ability, and responsiveness.

• Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
