Position Overview
The Outbound Agent and Appointment Setter is responsible for contacting prospective customers in the US market, introducing products or services, qualifying leads, and scheduling appointments for sales representatives or account managers. This role supports business development and revenue growth by generating sales opportunities through outbound calls, follow-ups, and other communication channels.
The ideal candidate is confident, persuasive, organized, and comfortable speaking with US-based customers. The successful candidate should be able to build rapport quickly, identify customer needs, handle objections, accurately record information, and consistently meet appointment-setting and lead-generation targets.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Sales and Lead Generation
Make outbound calls to prospective customers, business contacts, and targeted leads in the US market.
Introduce company products, services, offers, and business solutions in a clear and professional manner.
Generate interest and identify potential sales opportunities through consultative conversations.
Follow approved call scripts, campaign guidelines, sales processes, and compliance requirements.
Contact leads through phone, email, chat, or other approved communication channels as required.
Maintain a consistent daily call volume and complete assigned lead-generation activities.
Appointment Setting and Lead Qualification
Qualify prospects based on business needs, interest, budget, authority, timing, and other campaign criteria.
Schedule qualified appointments, consultations, product demonstrations, or sales calls for the appropriate team.
Confirm appointment details, including date, time, contact information, and meeting requirements.
Conduct appointment reminders and follow-ups to improve attendance and conversion rates.
Provide accurate and complete lead information to sales representatives and account managers.
Reschedule missed, canceled, or incomplete appointments when appropriate.
Customer Engagement and Objection Handling
Build rapport with prospects and maintain a positive customer experience throughout each interaction.
Ask effective discovery questions to understand customer needs, challenges, and buying intent.
Respond professionally to questions, concerns, and objections using approved techniques and information.
Explain the value and benefits of products or services without making inaccurate or unauthorized claims.
Escalate complex concerns, complaints, or account-specific issues to the appropriate team.
CRM Management and Reporting
Record call outcomes, customer information, qualification details, appointment schedules, and follow-up actions in the CRM.
Keep prospect and customer records accurate, complete, and up to date.
Manage assigned leads and follow up according to campaign timelines and priorities.
Track personal performance against call volume, contact rate, qualified leads, appointments set, show rate, and conversion targets.
Submit required reports and communicate lead status, customer feedback, and campaign updates to the team leader.
Maintain confidentiality and follow company policies regarding customer information and data protection.
Performance, Quality, and Team Collaboration
Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and appointment-setting goals.
Participate in team huddles, coaching sessions, training programs, calibration activities, and performance reviews.
Accept feedback and apply coaching to improve call quality, sales communication, and conversion results.
Review calls, emails, and customer interactions to identify opportunities for improvement.
Work collaboratively with sales representatives, team leaders, quality assurance, training, and operations teams.
Stay informed about campaign updates, product changes, promotions, target audiences, and customer requirements.
Qualifications
High school diploma, college degree, or equivalent educational background.
At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in outbound calling, appointment setting, telemarketing, inside sales, lead generation, customer service, or a related role is preferred.
Experience supporting US customers or North American sales campaigns is an advantage.
Strong verbal communication skills with clear, professional, and neutral spoken English.
Confident and comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls to prospective customers.
Strong listening, probing, persuasion, objection-handling, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to qualify leads accurately and schedule appointments based on defined campaign requirements.
Basic knowledge of sales processes, lead generation, appointment setting, and customer relationship management.
Experience using CRM systems, dialers, ticketing tools, email platforms, or other sales and contact center systems is preferred.
Strong computer skills, accurate data-entry ability, and attention to detail.
Self-motivated, target-driven, organized, and able to work independently.
Ability to handle rejection, maintain a positive attitude, and remain professional during challenging conversations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced BPO or contact center environment and manage multiple priorities.
Willingness to work US business hours, night shifts, weekends, holidays, or changing schedules as required by the account.
