Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive business development and strategic account management within the South Korean semiconductor market.
Our client is a technology company serving the semiconductor industry, with expertise across semiconductor equipment, components, and consumables. The role will focus on developing and managing relationships with major Korean semiconductor manufacturers, including leading global foundries and memory chip manufacturers, while expanding the company's customer base across the local semiconductor supply chain.
This is a Korea-based, customer-facing role requiring strong knowledge of the local semiconductor market, established industry relationships, and the ability to independently manage commercial activities from business development through order execution and payment collection.
The role is based in Dongtan, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage key accounts within the South Korean semiconductor market, including major semiconductor manufacturers and local testing, inspection, and supply-chain companies.
Drive the full business development cycle from customer engagement, needs identification, solution coordination, quotation, and commercial negotiation through contract signing, order execution, and payment collection.
Build and maintain long-term strategic customer relationships through regular onsite meetings, business reviews, and project follow-ups.
Identify new business opportunities, repeat orders, and potential expansion opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
Monitor the South Korean semiconductor market, including customer demand, competitor activities, industry developments, and emerging technologies.
Gather and analyze market intelligence and provide recommendations for business development and market expansion.
Coordinate closely with internal R&D, technical, and delivery teams to support customer requirements, technical discussions, sample testing, onsite commissioning, and after-sales support.
Track project progress and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery and customer satisfaction.
Manage commercial risks, customer requirements, and payment collection throughout the sales process.
Conduct local customer visits and business trips independently as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above.
Proven experience in semiconductor business development, sales, or key account management within the South Korean market.
Direct commercial experience working with major semiconductor manufacturers such as Samsung and/or SK Hynix is highly preferred and may be required depending on account coverage.
Experience working with Korean semiconductor testing, inspection, equipment, component, or consumables companies is highly valued.
Strong understanding of the South Korean semiconductor supply chain, customer procurement processes, and B2B commercial practices.
Experience managing strategic accounts, complex projects, large orders, commercial negotiations, and payment collection.
Strong knowledge of semiconductor equipment, components, consumables, or related technologies.
Fluent Korean is required, with professional proficiency in Chinese or English.
Currently based in South Korea and able to conduct regular onsite customer meetings and local business travel.
Strong negotiation, communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
Commercially driven, resilient, and comfortable working independently in a highly competitive B2B environment.
Ability to work effectively with cross-border R&D, technical, and delivery teams.
